DAILY DOSE OF ART

Dose #49 – BAAutiful 2: Wool Ball Felt Pouf

As I did my research on cool products from wool, I chanced upon this piece of furniture.  The design is so simple yet so beautiful.  Rows of wool balls in a a variety of hues – how very cool is that!

Dose #49: Wool Ball Felt Pouf

Spotted at: Pfeifer Studio

Description:  This contemporary cube pouf is created by artisans in India who hand felt sheep’s wool into small balls before attaching them to create a patterned design. It is perfect as a footstool or extra seating and is densely packed with shredded cotton to create a soft, firm seat.

Imagine the Possibilities: if you can turn any of your scrap (yarns, fabric swatches, etc) into balls you can make yourself a lounging cube; and if you are quite handy why not make yourself a storage cube and embellish it with your scrap balls.
