Homemade Gifts 3: Embellished APRON

Welcome to Day 3 of Homemade Gifts! We continue with this week’s creative challenge of creating homemade gifts from this $3.00 sleep shirt.
Today, we embellish an APRON.

Our base material: APRON
I got this one from DAISO Singapore for $2.00. However, you can make your own from scratch. There are many tutorials available on line. Here are a couple for example: makeitandmendit, marthastewart

Step 1 – Scan sleep shirt and crop one of the dogs.
Print on A4 paper and use as a template.

Step 2– Cut some material from the sleep shirt
using the dog template.
Step 3 – Attach the dog shape onto the apron’s pocket.
Use simple running stitch  1/2- 3/4 cm away from the edge.
Step 4 – Once dog is securely attached to pocket, use some dimensional fabric paint to seal the edges of fabric.
Optional: Add some design details using some silver glitter paint.You can also choose to use more material from the sleep shirt  to make or cover the neck straps.

And there you have it –
a nicely Embellished APRON as a gift!
