A Little About KISH SERRANO
 Info from Paw Palettes
“A lifelong artist, Gretchen Kish Serrano has always enjoyed painting. As a graduate of Northern Illinois University, she studied graphic design and advertising. While working as an art director at Leo Burnett Advertising in Chicago on various accounts including Hallmark Cards, Gretchen also studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. These experiences together with the life-changing adoption of Sophie, her rescued beaglewhippet from the Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago, have been the inspiration behind the creation of Paw Palettes. The artist lives in Florida with her husband and two young children…” Read more
“As an artist, I have been greatly influenced by the masters…
as a pet lover, I am inspired daily by Sophie.”
– Gretchen Kish Serrano
“There is something so special
about seeing Sophie’s unique soul
captured in a painting…
I want to do the same for other pets.
My dream is to create an art collection
where all pet lovers can select artwork to enjoy and share.
All of our pets deserve to be celebrated
in a masterpiece!”
– Gretchen Kish Serrano
Sadly, my sweet Sophie Girl passed away on April 20, 2013 at 16 years of age.
“I am heartbroken…but so glad she was mine.
She touched my soul and changed my life.
I will love you forever Sophie.”-– GKS

In case you are now thinking of commissioning Kish to do a Pet Portrait:
She already posted a response on her website …
“I am often asked about commissioned portraits. My goal of including all dog breeds and cats in the Paw Palettes Art Collection is ambitious. It has become my life’s work. For this reason, I do not offer commissioned portraits. However, I will be offering an original work, from time-to-time. A link to all original works will be posted on the home page. If your favorite pet is not currently part of the collection, feel free to email me photos. Perhaps your pet will inspire a Paw Palettes masterpiece!”- Gretchen Kish Serrano

Today’s Quote on Animals:
“Petting, scratching, and cuddling a dog could be as soothing to the mind and heart
as deep meditation
and almost as good for the soul
as prayer.”
Dean Koontz, False Memory
