INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cut a window on lower right frame of twice-folded A4 kraft paper, leaving at least 1/2″ all around.
 |
Step 1 |
2. Cut 1/4 (of A4) transparency sheet, trim a tiny bit off all around so it fits nicely behind the window you have just made.*I thought of this step to protect the scratch art, which as you will soon find out- is very delicate.
 |
Step 2 |
3. Glue transparency on the back of window & put aside.
(See pictures below)

Step 3 – Photo 1 |

Step 3 – Photo 2 |
4. Cut 1/4 of scratch art paper to fit one frame of folded kraft paper. Do not glue yet. (See picture below)
 |
Step 4 |
5. Using freehand or a stencil start scratching your art paper using a plastic stylus/nail/toothpick (as you design just be aware of how much can be seen through the window so you don’t end up with letters cut off from view) See pictures below.
Step 5 – Scratch to your heart’s desire!
*just bear in mind the limits of the window view
6. When you’re done with your scratching/drawing, glue scratch art onto the bottom right frame of the back of kraft paper.

“I know what I really want for Christmas.
I want my childhood back.
Nobody is going to give me that. I might give at least the memory of it to myself if I try. I know it doesn’t make sense, but since when is Christmas about sense, anyway? It is about a child, of long ago and far away, and it is about the child of now. In you and me. Waiting behind the door of our hearts for something wonderful to happen. A child who is impractical, unrealistic, simpleminded and terribly vulnerable to joy.”
