Eggless Tofu Mayo – A Healthy Alternative

After this week’s feature on mandala art as a medium for self-discovery, meditation and healing, I thought I should find an essential culinary component that connects to ‘wellness’.  So, I thought why not the eggless TOFU MAYO that I learned from the Ananda Marga Wellness Center (Cebu)? I stayed there last year for some cleansing treatment and dietary counselling. As a plus, I learned a few healthy vegetarian recipes.
Real Mayo or Tofu Mayo??
 The choice is yours.
Hopefully, you choose the healthier option.

I had been a pescatarian for 11 years when I turned vegetarian a year ago. I have been slowly working my way to a healthier diet and lifestyle. So I am always happy when I encounter a healthy recipe worthy of adapting into my regular diet. So today I share with you a healthier alternative to the very rich ‘real’ mayonnaise- the TOFU MAYO!

3/4 cup crumbled silken tofu
1 Tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar 
1/4 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
1/4 teaspoon salt


  1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender
  2. Process until creamy. 
  3. Chill.
  4. Stir before serving.

This healthy mayo tastes great and you can use it wherever you need to use mayonnaise.
